For informational purposes, BESLA is an international organization of lawyer and other industry executives in support of a more diversified, expert and informed group of entertainment and sports industry professionals. Our purpose is to:

- Open pathways to economic and decision-making parity in the sports and entertainment industries for legal and creative talent representatives.

- Provide an effective network of high-impact professional and business relationships and information-sharing.

- Facilitate legal and business affairs employment and business opportunities for people of color

One of BESLA’s primary focuses is its Annual Conference where members nationwide and internationally have the opportunity to network with other attorneys and professionals within the entertainment and sport industries.

At the core of the conference is a group of dynamic individuals that work alongside the conference staff to ensure this 4-day event is a success. The conference volunteers are an important asset to the team.  BESLA anticipates that selected students will always and in all circumstances are professional in their demeanor, attire, and present a pleasing personality. They are selected based on their sincere commitment to enter into the entertainment and/or sport law fields and upon their willingness to assist the board of directors, the conference staff, and BESLA members and guests offering assistance to ensure their conference experience is a meaningful one.

To be considered for one of the fourteen (14) volunteer opportunities for this year, please submit a cover letter stating the extent of your interest in entertainment and sport law and how you may add value to the 28th Annual Conference along with a current resume and a letter of recommendation from a professor, employer or law school dean. Participation in a prior year(s) does not guarantee selection. The volunteer staff will be working under the direction of Mr. Mark A. Wilson, Volunteer and Staff Manager and will have the opportunity to work in one or more of the following capacities:

    • Conference Registration (four days)
    • Welcome Reception
    • Membership Luncheon
    • CLE Attendance Maintenance
    • On-site Office
    • Monitoring Workshops and Evening Activity Attendance
    • Gala Reception and more.

Volunteering during the conference is restricted to current matriculating
    LAW STUDENTS ONLY.

Please note: Selected volunteers will be required to attend a mandatory training and orientation session on
    Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 5:30 p.m

Thank you for your interest in BESLA!
